Deceptive Judd Course Challenge

JFS travelled to Tonbridge to compete at the home of the National XC Champions for the first time, unsure what to expect.
With the usual schools in attendance, plus a couple of newcomers it was down to business for this 5-man relay race.
The course was a two-lap, 1.8 mile distance, and on first glance looked to be a flat and relatively uneventful course. However the afternoon would prove harder than first expected with times a lot slower than the same distances 2 weeks ago at Tiffin. The ground was soggy and a long upwards incline towards the end of each lap would prove deceptive. It was also bitterly cold and photos were not possible due to hands being firmly in pockets!

The A Team ran, as always, with great heart and a finishing position of 5th was a fantastic achievement. Well done to Harry and Malachi who stepped up into the A Team and once again well done to Freddy for his fastest JFS time.

The B Team had a great race to finish as the 4th B Team. Special mention and stars of the day went to Ben Brant who once again showed his renewed appetite for running and Joe Roberts who ran a great leg at his first Wednesday fixture

That is the last XC fixture until the New Year. Well done to all who have run and kept the reputation of John Fisher flying so high!
