However spirits were high despite the knowledge that race favourite Ricky was absent on GB XC duty in Scotland vs The USA and Europe (let you off this time!!)
Unfortunately it seemed that several members of the team had been put the night before and were seemingly a little worse for ware! Time would tell the effect it would have!
The conditions were better than recent years, although still muddy and cold. Warm-ups complete the boys got to the start line in good time instead of the last minute as normal

The competition was very strong, and all the JFS runners can be very proud indeed of their efforts!
Well done Gianluca who ran probably his best run in a JFS shirt. Freddy continued his amazing season with a fantastic position against runners 4 years his senior. Jacob and Alfie ran well together to record great times.
Ryan focused on future fitness and finishing in one piece, and it was a shame that a strong first 4 miles was ruined by sickness (night before?) for Harry Smith.
Special mention to Malachi and Peter who were running this distance for the first time and who ran well under the 50 minutes target!
Well done to all the runners!
