With no league fixture this
weekend, we will once again be competing in the Roundshaw Parkrun this Saturday.
There are thousands of these 5k
(3.1 miles) races every Saturday all across the UK and wider world – it has
become a running phenomenon. It is a public event open to anyone and is free to
enter. Therefore, if any parents or siblings want to run this Saturday you are
more than welcome.
The race is 2 laps of the old
airfield behind our playing fields and the boys will be timed and the results
are published later that day on the website. Information can be found at www.parkrun.org.uk/roundshaw/
We will meet at the
Pavilion at 8.15 as the race begins at 9.00. If you want to meet us at
the start of the race itself, details are on the link above, but basically the
start is near to the Battle of Britain Memorial on Purley Way.
If you have never run a Parkrun you will need to register before the race online. You will then
have to print off a barcode which you carry in your pocket when running.
This is then used to link the time to the runner. If you have registered
before, remember your barcode this time!!
I will be available in Room 72 (The ICT room) Friday breaktime for
any runners who need to register and print off their details.
