Charterhouse Fixture

This week’s race is a competition put on by Charterhouse – a famous and very old public school in Godalming. The postcode is GU7 2DX if your parents are taking you straight there. Use the entrance by the Lodge and keep going until you get to the big Gothic style building on your left where the start is. There is parking close by. Be there by 2.00 at the latest as your race starts at 2.30 and we need to declare you.  Please let us know if your parents are taking you there so that we can fill the minibuses.

Minibuses will be leaving from school at 12.00. We will be returning to school by about 5.45 after a hot meal and results presentation.

Please email me if you are going direct or there are any issues at dfell@suttonlea.org

Sutton Borough Championship Results

Well done to all the runners who ran for JFS at the Sutton Borough Championships.

The age group were divided into unusual age groups of a Year 7 group, Years 8&9, Years 10&11 and finally seniors. The course at Sutton Grammar’s Northey Avenue was appreciated by all with a mixture of field, shrub land and forest, and interesting course indeed. Whilst the weather was not great, it held off enough to ensure the footing was decent. With big fields in all age groups, with every secondary school in Sutton represented, the day would present a challenge for all

YEAR 7 Johnson-A 9th   Dotting 12th  Daniel 24th
              O’Sullivan 31st   Kilama 43rd  Victor 49th
              Casey 52nd

Well done to the Year 7 teams, who all ran with great determination. Zack once again showed his improvement finishing as the first JFS runner, but all ran really well!

                  Hilario 20th   Roberts 21st  Hancock 25th
                  Conway 39th  Hewitt 40th

Well done to the 8/9 team, packed with great potential and so it showed with Freddy and Alfie finishing 1st and 2nd and both ending up clear of the chasing pack. Ebuka and Jhon showed their ability, with the whole team contributing very well.

YRS 10/11   Logue 6th  Messette 18th  Edwards 24th
                      Lunn 31st  Harvey 39th  Amerasinghe 41st
                      Gerges 48th

Huge thanks to Saul Harvey, who agreed to run at the last moment following Harry Smith's withdrawal, but well done to all of the runners, in particular Joe Logue - showing the benefit of miles in the legs and Malachi who continues to prove a great asset.

YEARS 12/13 Lutakome WON   R.Galvin 3rd
                          Jones 4th  Ercolano 6th Rodrigues 14th
                          Brant 16th  A.Galvin 18th

The Senior Team won in convincing style, as befitting a team packed with such running talent. Ricky won in style, with Ryan, Jacob and Gianluca all performing well. Antonio and Finley arrived in the nick of time, or indeed just afterwards, so well done for getting there! But well done to all!
