Tiffin Success

Saturday saw a strong JFS XC squad travel to Tiffin for the League race against Oxted and Tiffin themselves.

The day also saw the XC debuts of a number of Year 7 runners, selected after their efforts the previous Friday during games - all acquitted themselves impressively!

With a slightly changed course, Tiffin still remained a flat course with firm footing. With dry and clear weather it was perfect conditions!

A very large junior field of 50+ runners set off on their 2.5km course having received last minute instructions from the Tiffin staff, here are some of the Junior team looking a tad apprehensive but determined to do their best.

What a great performance they all put in as seen below

Well done to Alfie and Freddie for continuing their form of last year. Ebuka and Matthew ran a great pace throughout for their finishes and all in all impressive runs were seen by ALL the runners.

John Fisher has a fantastic sporting reputation so congrats to those representing the school for the first time!

A final place of 2nd was secured!

The Inters and Seniors were run together, but confusion at the finis meant that I could not distinguish between the 2 and so final results will come later in the week.

They ran a 3.5km course and below are their finishing positions in the combines race, Inters and Seniors, and their times

Obviously this table has years 9-13 in it, and the Inters are in BOLD

Very well done to Harry who showed the benefit of his summer training, some others need to get some miles in the leg before greater challenges to come

Final positions will come later, but well done to all who ran

Next weeks sees the home fixture at Plough Lane so lets all run well and defend our home turf!
