THE KNOLE RUN PROVES STERN TEST

The Junior Knole Run was, as expected, a tough and demanding race for our Juniors on Friday with a high class field and over 300 runners.

The 10 runners from Year 7 & 8 traveled down to Sevenoaks school in Kent in high spirits despite the bitingly cold weather and duly registered

The team tent saw its first outing of the year:

After Captain Peter Edwards had led the warm-up the boys watched the girls start their race, which impressed upon them the size of the event.

Heading down to the start, the numbers of runners soon rose, and then a rather famous former footballer was spotted supporting his son Romeo:

Mr David Beckham

The race began at a fearsome pace as you can see below

The 2.1 mile course included 2 hills and was largely wet and muddy.

All the JFS runners acquitted themselves really well and can be proud of their efforts

There were around 33 schools running and the A Team (the first 4 finishers) finished in 22nd place which was a very good effort,

The B Team also put in a great shift.

Special mention to James Parker who ran his best run for JFS yet, and of course Alfie and Freddie who broke into the top 100.
The Year 7s have one more year in this prestigious event and so have to aim to better their times and positions next year

WELL DONE ALL

ps. Romeo finished in 14th position with a time of 15.41
