Despite some late call-off's and no-shows, a hardy bunch of JFS athletes braved the cold to travel to Hampton Court and Tiffin's home ground for a league relay.
Despite some confusing course alterations, the task was clear. Unfortunately only 7 Juniors and 6 Seniors had made it so we had incomplete teams.
The Juniors all ran well, with Joe Conroy on his debut impressing. Ebuka once again ran the best leg. The Juniors came 3rd overall

Sixth at Sevenoaks
The Junior XC squad travelled to Sevenoaks school on Friday 18/11 for the prestigious Jnr Knole Run. This event, open to Year 7 & 8 students is, in effect, the National Race for this age group.
359 runners ran the challenging 2 mile course from 75 teams entered. JFS travelled down with the full compliment of 12 runners so would have A. B and C Teams finishing.
The journey was quick and the boys had plenty of time to walk the course with Francis and see the girls race start. Then it was final warm-ups and down to the packed start line. A good start is vital as the 2 hills prevent overtaking and so the enormous field set off.
With Francis out on the course, Mr Fell took position at the finish. Chip timers in the race numbers meant no automatic results would be known.
JFS A Team finished in 22nd position last year but hopes were that we would break into the top 10.

For the A Team to finish 6th was fantastic
The B Team finished half-way up the order!
Alfie Smith to finish 6th from 359 of the best runners of his age group is equally fantastic
Freddy to finish 12th was brilliant
The Year 7 runners all ran brilliantly
Well done to the runners who usually play rugby who all ran with great heart
Overall a very successful day and proof that our Juniors have real talent - the future looks bright!
Seniors All Impress at St.Albans
Like travelling to an away fixture at Old Trafford or the Etihad, the St.Albans Relay takes place at the home of one of the country's top Cross-Country schools, if not the top.
This is always a very challenging fixture with some excellent opposition and a course that can be very wet and muddy. With 6-man teams and a 2-mile leg each everyone aimed to improve on their previous years time and see where we ended.
The long drive to St.Albans around the M25 was uneventful with Miss Tomes and Francis in the minibus and Mr Fell in his car due to a late evening appointment.

Wet at Lancing!
The hotly anticipated fixture at Lancing took place this weekend and despite very poor weather, the challenging course was braved by all.
Well done to Alfie Smith who knocked an impressive amount of time off of his previous years effort, and to all the Year 7s who braved the courseWell done to all the seniors for running the 5.6 miles course. Special congrats to Ben Brant, newly returned to the XC fold, and Joe Halfacre who finished so strong.

What a fantastic performance from the XC squad at Charterhouse on 5th November.
The amazing grounds present a challenging course including the infamous Charterhouse Hill which most walk up, only the ultra fit run it!
Well done to Ricky for winning the Senior race in handsome style.
Special mention to Jude Watson who managed to finished the course despite spraining both of his ankles!
Also well done James Parker for improving on his 2015 time and looking increasingly strong
Well done to all the Year 7s for conquering the Hill for the first time!
